About SOMET 2018

The SOMET conference highlights and reflects the state-of-art and new trends on software methodologies, tools and techniques. You are invited to participate to help build a forum for exchanging ideas and experiences to foster new directions in software development methodologies and related tools and techniques. This conference is focused on exploring innovations, controversies, and challenges facing the Software Engineering community today. The conference brings together theory and experience to propose and evaluate solutions to Software Engineering problems. The conference also provides a forum and an opportunity to assess the current state-of-the-art in intelligent Software techniques and to chart software science initiated from experience to theory. This workshop is an opportunity for us in the software science community to think about where we are and today and where we are going.

Visa Information (Spain Entry Visa)

Visa application process can take several weeks, so we encourage attendees to apply for visas as early as possible. Please, check the following official website for information about procedures to follow and legislation in place concerning visa formalities for Spain.

Please, contact Embassy of Spain in the country of your origin to ask about required documents for a visa application (list of documents, type of Invitation letter, period of visa issuing etc.).

Visa letters will be issued to all co-authors by request. If you have specifc requirements, please send your full name as it appears on your passport, as well as your gender, date of birth, complete mailing address, passport number and country of issue, and phone number to F. Submissions & Publications

Papers must be submitted through the submission platform.

Papers must be written by using the IOS format up to 14 A4 pages for Regular papers, and up to 10 pages for Short papers.

The Proceedings of the conference will be published as a book by IOS international publisher in series: Frontiers in Artificial Intelligence and Applications, that is indexed by SCOPUS.

Special Issue

The International Journal Knowledge-Based Systems intends to publish a special issue in 2018 about the conference. The authors of selected papers will be invited to submit journal extended versions to the special issue on specific topics to be decided.

Event Location and Accomodation

SOMET 2018 will be held in Granada in the south of Spain.

There are two near airports: The Granada-Jaén airport (which mainly supports local flights, altought there are some international lines operating there) and the Málaga international airport. Both have good connections with Granada by bus.

The exact venue of the conference is the "Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura de Granada" (Tecnical Architecture School) which is located in a historical building in the Realejo Neighborhood, quite near the Alhambra. The exact address of the building is:
